The Pacbitun Regional Archaeological Project (PRAP) is an international archaeological research project and field school centered around the ancient Maya site of Pacbitun, located in west central Belize, Central America.  Pacbitun was continuously occupied for close to 2,000 years beginning in the Preclassic period (1000-100 BC), and was abandoned sometime in the Late Classic period (750-900 A.D).  The archaeological team consists of an international group of researchers from Canada, France, Germany, and the United States.  Summer 2011 investigations will focus on ithe main plaza, Plaza A, the peripheral settlement and many of the caves that dot the surrounding landscape.

Our research is set to begin 1 June so please stay tuned as updates will be happening soon!
